It's Official
I remember when I first checked out USAT rankings after my first
season in 2002. I think I pulled off an Honorable Mention, but I don't
remember exactly. What I do remember is looking at the girls at the
top of the list wondering how in the world they got points that high.
The next year, I managed an All American ranking. One year, I didn't
have enough points-scoring races to even get a ranking, because I did
mostly races in the NCTS's amateur elite wave. No points for those
races.
So this year when I missed Tri Nationals, I didn't expect much
from my points.
Actually, I didn't know what to expect with the new scoring system.
I did have a couple of solid performances in May, lost a couple of
months to injury and too much work, then that long course race with
only a few participants.
In fact, the long course race score was
pretty low at first, even though I did great. I sent an email to USAT
to see if they could look at it again. Lo and behold, the score went
from low to really high. Wow. What am I gonna do? Complain? I don't
think so.
So the point of this rambling? Well ...
I ranked first in my age group. (W 35-39) Oh my gosh. Crazy. Pretty cool though, huh?
