Here’s a short post while I continue to dally with writing up the wildly overdue special 3 year old edition of Toddler Talk. This is a misleading title. Why? Because this post isn’t so much about this particular triathlon as it is about my past week. Also because the real thing I want to talk about is what I accomplished last Wednesday night, not what I did Saturday morning. Reprint from the USA Triathlon website. Honorable mention for Master’s Women Triathlete of the Year. Many congrats to friends Kristin Villopoto and Anne Davidson. Well deserved honors!
Here’s a reprint of the my interview with USAT writer Lindsay Wyskowski. You can find the original here. This is super awesome to get the recognition for all the work I’ve done through the years. Turning 40 can be a positive thing, folks! Continue reading Reprint from USAT: One Athlete, Three Titles in 2010 Community Sports News is a local newspaper that covers results from all the non-traditional sports. The editor wrote a nice blurb about me in this November edition. Thanks Joel! OK, yes I know I owe a race report. It’s coming. In the meantime, here’s a reproduction of the corrected press release from USAT from http://www.usatriathlon.org/news/2010/10/02/usat-closes-out-national-championship-season-with-long-course-club-nationals/38859?ngb_id=12. Continue reading USAT Press Release – 2010 Long Course Nationals My first of two A races is coming up this Saturday. It’s an Olympic Distance triathlon (1.5k / 40k / 10k) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama that serves as an age group national championship. I did this race last year and had a really good performance. I believe I’m more fit this year, so I really hope I can nail the execution and realize the benefits of all this training I’ve been doing. Right now, I’m feeling oh-so-typically several days away from ready. Last week, I saw the web-based version of the USAT Spring magazine came out with all the rankings and discovered that I did surprisingly well in both triathlon and duathlon. Thus, I suppose it is time for a little self promotion. It’s an amazing honor to be mentioned on the same page as these other athletes– as a duathlete, no less! What a pleasant surprise for a first year post-partum.
