Reprint from the USA Triathlon website. Honorable mention for Master’s Women Triathlete of the Year. Many congrats to friends Kristin Villopoto and Anne Davidson. Well deserved honors!
Lately, I’ve been giving a lot of thought to education. This compulsion a function of my interest in high performance, capability and what it takes to develop that in any human. Since I now have a small child, I’m inclined to consider those younger humans in addition to those adult-sized models. One of the things I learned from my reconnaissance to Uwharrie a few weeks ago was that I was quite underprepared in my steep uphill hiking fitness. Both are key events in my preparation for the Uwharrie 40 and are close in calendar proximity, so they both deserve a mention. I keep a reading list here so I have a record of books and articles that I’ve read. Why? I don’t know. So that I can feel some sort of satisfaction for the accomplishment, I suppose. Kind of like being able to look back over my training log, but for mental training of sorts. |
