How To Tantrum

Hello folks.  Today I’m going to share with you my advanced tantruming technique to be used any time you don’t get exactly what you want precisely when you want it.

Step 1:  Shut eyes really tight.

Step 2:  Open mouth and scrunch face as if in awful pain.

Step 3:  Make the silent cry for several seconds.  Be sure to make it look like you’re so distressed you can’t breathe.

Step 4:  Hunch over and stomp your feet repeatedly.

Step 5:  Cry out loud to make sure they get the full picture of your agony.

Anyway, I’ve been getting a lot of practice.  It’s not my fault.  Mom (a.k.a. “Mah”) and Dad keep closing and/or locking interesting cabinets, not letting me play in the open refrigerator, not letting me play in the sink whenever I want, sometimes walk past the alluring doors to the outside, and even sometimes going outside without me

I mean, WHAT?!

Sigh.  I have lots of training to do with these people.

  • Most commonly used phrase these days:

Oh, Remy, it’s not REALLY that bad.

  • Rebecca

Sometimes I do the tantrum face back to Elena and that really confuses her. The first time I did it her tantrum ended immediately since she started laughing at me and looking super perplexed :)

  • Mom

    I like Rebecca’s strategy.

  • REMY??!?!!! Quit teaching everyone else how to pull this stuff that drives mommy nuts… ;)

  • Those parents of yours sound awful. Just awful. :)

  • Angela Kidd

Hysterical. He must be coaching Zach. And most commonly used phrase here “Zach, you’re okay.”

  • hahaha!

Angeline is doing the same tantrums.
On the plus side, it used to cause me physical pain when she cried. I’m getting over that by necessity. How can they make it sound like they’re in awful pain when you know all you did was move them away from the fridge and close it??

  • The tantrum cry is different from the real cry. It sounds just as bad, sometimes even worse, but there’s an important distinction. It’s especially obvious when you re-open the fridge door to test and the child goes from full on tantrum to grinning and giggle within .2 seconds.
