I used to swear that “recovery run” was an oxymoron. Running never left me more recovered than I would have been without the run. Maybe that’s still true, but I ran my 59 minutes yesterday pretty slowly because I’d done plyometrics and 45 minutes of powercranking the day before and was pushing a stroller. I [...] I checked and it was mid July when I last tested my mettle against the golden cranks of torture. Five months. I was convinced that 30 minutes would be the best I could “crank” out, with at least 2 breaks to soothe the burning hips, but I underestimated myself. My feet kept turning with nary [...] I went to the office for about 4 hours this afternoon and am convinced that my child looks older now. Must be that growth spurt. I think his hair is filling in some more too. This past weekend, Remy decided he needed to be fed almost constantly. The last couple days, he’s sleeping a ton. Something’s up in Crumplerville and it’s probably going to be Remy’s size and weight. His feet are already big for a 3 month old baby. Gary’s getting concerned that the baby socks we have are [...] You may recall my plan to build into running an hour a day. Once I confirmed for the tri team and began to set a race schedule it dawned on me that I’ll need to ride a fair amount and (shock) swim at some point. While it’s possible that I can be fit enough eventually [...] Why is that truck or car honking at me while I run on the sidewalk? This has happened the past few days. I think I must be starting to look like a hot athlete again, instead of still pregnant and pudgy. Awesome. Although I’ve still got quite a pudge, it seems I’ve turned a corner. Lately, Remy’s been into texture. He moves his fingers in a grasping-opening motion over and over again over the surface of whatever’s within reach. He’s learned that some things, such as the denim on Daddy’s jeans and the leather couch, make a satisfying scritchy scritchy scritchy sound when he does that. Scritchy sounds are fun and [...] |
