Run Of Luck

I headed out in the balmy 68-70 degree weather for my hour run loop and was briefly waylayed by a four leaf clover in my yard.  I have a talent in finding those things and I don’t even have to be looking.  I take it as a sign of luck when that happens because I’m optimistic that way.

As luck would have it, about a half mile into my route, I came across a broken and crushed 10k gold necklace.  I pick it up and add it to the key pocket in my running shorts where I’ve stashed the four leaf clover.  Maybe it’s time to gather up all the broken jewelry gold I have and sell it for cash, however little it might be.

So I’m trotting along and feeling good.  I hit a part of the course about 2+ miles along about 30 seconds quicker than I did on Christmas.  Christmas was a good run and a little over 8 minute per mile pace.  Would I should I could I finish this run in under 8 minute pace?  I think so.  I go for it and even work it towards the end with my cheeks burning warm in the unseasonably warm temps.  Hurrah for 7:54 average!  I have reached the 7:xx milestone.  Lucky me.
