We’ve got lots of great baby clothes as hand me downs from family and other gifts. They’re in sizes ranging to 18 months or so. Sounds like a long time, but Remy’s only 1.5 weeks short of 3 months old and we’ve officially moved the 6-9 / 6-12 month clothing from the bags in the closet to the dresser.
I learned my lesson from before when I dug out the 3-6 month gear a little late, some of it only getting used once or twice before the snaps couldn’t reach under the fluffy diaper of Mr. Long Torso. About a week ago or a little more, I took a preliminary peek into the 6+ month bag and pulled out a few things. The rest looked kind of big and besides, he was still fitting into some cute stuff of the previous size just right, but not a lot of room to expand.
That was before the most recent growth spurt. The poor babe’s been wearing items with the crotch snaps left open, especially when dressed by Daddy Gary. That’s not a habit we want to teach the youngster, methinks. Right now, we have the Remster in a super-cute pajama-looking item from Grandma and Grandpa Crumpler that has the unusual property of fitting a little big. Here’s evidence:

My husband leaves the crotch snaps open too. What’s up with that??
Wow, he really does have a long torso. The diaper probably makes it look even longer. Very cute outfit.
