One of the things I’ve missed is riding my cross bike in fall weather through woodsy and rolling Umstead Park bridle trails. Today, I was back. What a pretty day!
When I first hopped on the cross bike, I was like oh wow this bike feels agressive compared to the Nancy. Then I looked down at the adjustable stem bent into it’s highest position. Oh, yeah. That stem that we added to the bike to provide more belly clearance so I could ride it a little longer into my pregnancy. Hrm. Maybe not so aggressive after all. Silly me.
I use my brakes a little more than usual on the down hill and technical portions, but I eventually adjust to the bike. My butt isn’t adjusted to the saddle yet, though. After 1.5 hours, I could no longer ignore the discomfort in my sit bones. This will come back. No worries. I just need more time in the saddle. Yup, that’s the ticket.

Ahh, so cool! I’ve started day dreaming about riding my bikes again too… Glad you had a good one.
Awesome. Congrats on getting back at it. I can’t wait to join you!
Awesome! Sounds like fun!
I can almost “see” you smile through all your recent posts. You seem so happy! And not without reason – beautiful, healthy baby boy and getting back into some training in the beautiful fall weather… Life is good! So happy for you!
