Growing Boy

He’s getting bigger.  The reason we know this is because the 10 lb and under diapers don’t fit any more without leaking.  In fact, I am ashamed to say, that the super-cute cloth diapers made by Laurie’s sister don’t fit snugly around Remster’s legs and result in leakage.  We still use them sometimes, but it usually means a wardrobe change after the next pee, which could happen as quickly as say, oh, 2 hours to 3 minutes after the last change.  Given that the little guy doesn’t care for being naked on a changing table, he kicks up quite a fuss when we change clothes along with the diaper, this isn’t a great situation to have several times a day.  So, yeah, we’re using disposable diapers for now.  Sigh.  We also have the prefold and flat clothies too, but they are all one size and really big.  We haven’t found a good way to fold those down to current Remy size in a timely fashion yet.  Last we tried was last week, so maybe we’ll give it another shot when he’s half asleep and maybe won’t fuss quite as much.

I took some action shots of Remy earlier today when he was doing his usual pre-poop gyrations.  How do I know they are pre-poop gyrations?  For those not aware, little babies making big poopie poops is not a quiet affair.  You would know from the other side of the house that a poopie-poop is in process.  I do not kid.

So here he is:

  • You can tell by the look on his face in some of those pictures what he’s doing! HA! Apparently babies and husbands have quite a bit in common? ;)
    Glad things are going well!

He is soooo cute! I’m so excited for you. I’m now officially 2 days overdue…so needless to say I’m a little anxious to meet our little one :-)

I have really liked the bum genuis 3.0. I tink Lilly has chunky thighs though b/c she fits great in the ones from Krista (Laurie’s sister). Best of luck on the cloth diaper adventure!! We only use around 1 disposable diaper per day (for her over night period) and she (knock on wood) has never had diaper rash!

  • Adorable! Except for the poopie poop part. That’s probably NOT so fun. But for a baby about to produce something large – he’s quite the cutie! Sounds like thing are going really great :)

Wow! He is growing quickly. You are keeping him nice and healthy. Let me know how cloth diapers end up working out when he is big enough. We are trying to do the Gdiapers which are part cloth, part flushable, but everyone kees telling me I’ll cave and use disposable.
