It’s official. I finally had the energy to match the motivation to have my environment set and ready. The house is looking pretty good. The car seat is installed. The bags are mostly packed except for the stuff that won’t go in until we’re heading out (snacks, pillows, etc.) And. And (sound of trumpet) the nursery is complete with the minor exception of the custom matching blinds that won’t be here for a couple weeks. Believe you me, if we had the blinds on hand, they would be up, but it doesn’t really matter because the little guy will be sleeping in the in-bed contraption or the bassinet ($26 through Craigs List) that we have in the bedroom for the early weeks anyway.
But back to the nursery. It looks awesome and I am so proud. My Mom brought over the stuffed fish she sewed for us that are much bigger than expected and are now hanging from the ceiling looking extremely cute and under-water thematic. My brother brought me a rocking chair for my birthday present and it fits nicely in the room. You’re probably thinking how generous I am to put so much effort into something for the little one, but I confess that I did this partly to prove to myself I can still do a reasonably good job at arty stuff. It’s not perfect, but that’s OK, because it’s still awesomely super. It’s getting dark here now, so pictures will have to come tomorrow when we have better light. Check back for the glamour shots.
We’re ready, Remy. I know it’s getting crowded in there. There lots of space out here. Just sayin.
