Puke puke puke puke puke.  That’s the song I sing in my head to prevent me from actually doing so.  I think it helps.  I’m struggling with the knowledge that I have a couple months of this feeling.  Oh jeez.  Today I ran at lunch time and made it to that point with the help of a ginger drink.  As usual, things are good for about an hour or so after and then…oh THEN the queasies come on.  Bleaaaaah.  Then I sing the puke song.

I go into the office this afternoon and my colleague’s like, “you don’t look so good.”  Nope.  That plus the Benadryl to squelch the itchies from accidentally eating something with gluten this weekend.  What a day.  Then 5:30pm rolls around and I head home.  Time for the Powercranks workout I was going to do but ditched because I was too cold, too tired and too pukey feeling.  I ate some cereal and drifted off for a light nap instead.  So goes my day.

And it’s only the beginning!! Wait until you can’t see your feet anymore and suddenly going up a flight of stairs leaves you breathing heavy and quads burning!! Enjoy!!!

Everyone’s pregnancy is different…but I thought that the first trimester was about 100 times harder than then 2nd or 3rd. Constant nausea and extreme fatigue was enough to make me say on numerous occasions that I will never subject myself to this again…but then one day, around 12 weeks, I magically felt better. And then pregnancy was a breeze after that. The only thing that made me feel slightly human in the 1st trimester was swimming. Hang in there…it will eventually pass, but it is not fun!
