It’s the day after Christmas and here I sit writing blog posts, scheduling phone interviews and helping my colleague out with fun payroll processing all the while finding some time to fit in a short run. A year ago was a very different scene. Gary and I were on a plane heading to El Paso, where we met up with Alisha Lion then rented a car and headed to the very remote town of Fort Davis. All this trouble just to get some quality volume at moderate elevation, replete with climbs and wind. Lots of wind. For those of you who are newer to this blog and didn’t get to share in those crazy adventures just a flip of the calendar ago, it is all documented here for your amusement.
I will say this– after that trip, nothing I did in my build up to Silverman felt like all that much in comparison. Heck. That trip put Silverman into perspective. Perhaps I’ll do another trip like that again, because there’s something really gutsy about going back out knowing full well what’s in store. Maybe next year.
