Ever read some old blog post of mine and I say that I’ll write on some follow up topic someday and you think, “how interesting” but I never do? Or perhaps you have a topic that you’re pondering and you, for some bizarre reason, wonder what my opinion might be? Or maybe you just have a question about my observations or things I’ve learned in the past 6 years of multisport. Or, perhaps, you’d like to volunteer your topic-generation genius where mine runs dry like a desert.
If you have anything along these lines, comment on this blog and I’ll be sure to work those topics into the semi-daily flow of blather. When you comment, I get a little email notifying me of the contents and I’ll go, “Aha! This person is brilliant!” I’ll write on that topic and pilfer your ingenuity and present it as my own. What a great trade!
Thanks in advance for your ideas…

I have a simple question. How do you maintain such a high level of motivation throughout the year? If I were to graph my training motivation over a 12 month period, it would resemble a sine curve.
Alicia,
This sounds silly, but b/c you are allergic to so many different, KEY things, what do you eat daily? I always wonder when athletes have dietary restrictions. JH
What does The Crumpler eat for breakfast?
If you could be a “pro” – which one, and why? Name one of your guilty pleasures. Tell us about the last time you cried. Which is your favorite month to train – why? When are you going to do an ironman?
I hope you don’t mind me asking this…but I always wonder what keeps some of the best amateurs in the country (such as yourself) from turning pro? Thanks!
Wow! Look at all of these!
Just one quick comment — none of these questions are silly or do I mind being asked. I will try to work these in over the coming weeks.
[...] I guess now would be a good time to address Elizabeth’s question from the Ask A Question blog regarding when I’m going to do an Ironman. The short and easy answer is “no time soon.” Why not? I have other immediate plans, which this year includes Worlds in Germany, LC Du Nationals, hopefully LC Du Worlds then Woodlands 101. Sure I could do an ironman and do fine, but there’s this other distance that I feel more prepared to race and that’s the 101 distance. Plus, the recovery is much less. Further, a whole frigging marathon after 112 miles on the bike? Ugh. Today is the first day I’ve ridden 112, and most of that was in various peoples’ draft. Eighty mile ride then 30k run just makes more sense. Next year is to be a year off from racing. Will I do one in 2009? I have no idea. That is so far away! How about I worry about 2009 later? [...]

Hi Alicia,
I recently made a post on the women’s forum at Slowtwitch where I asked people to share their experience with how early they started running with their baby in a jogger. One of the women responded by suggesting I contact you to find out if you purchased a specific support piece to run with your baby? I wonder if that’s the case? I have a 9 week old and I just purchased an Ironman BOB jogger, which I can’t wait to use. But, I’ve read and heard so many contrasting opinions about when is an appropriate time to get out the door and run with our little ones. Thanks in advance for sharing any info (I searched through your blog titles and didn’t find anything related to a jog stroller accessory).
