It’s time for the Marina Time Trial again! There was a little wind again– this time head winds down, tail wind back– that were stronger during warmup than during the actual Time Trial. I’d like to think that the winds continued to diminish as I went, so I can say that I had more head wind resistance on the first half than help on the second half, because my time was the SAME as last month! Heck. It was 24:04 again, so 5 seconds off my goal of 23:59. I don’t think I could have found another 5 seconds– I worked really hard. So hard that it took me quite a while to get my breathing back to normal.
Good news is I felt strong and able to push really hard. On the first half I’m listening to my breathing thinking “Hmm. Sure am breathing hard, but my legs feel fine. I’ll keep going at this effort.” Things got tough in the last few miles, but I hung in there.
