So this Friday night is the Raleigh Twillight Crit. The event even got a little plug in the local paper with some athlete interviews, so that’s pretty cool. I’m excited because I’m going to make it out to watch this year. So long as I get that track workout in earlier in the day, that is. I’ll make sure I do.
Watching the crit will be good motivation for my cycling adventure this coming Sunday, the Mountains of Misery Century Ride. Woo hoo! The event up in the Virginia mountains is actually two days of riding– Saturday and Sunday– but even I realize that would be too much long bike focus in these last several weeks of lead up to Tri Nationals, which has only 40k of pretty intense riding preceded by a fast swim and following by a haulin’ boody run. The mountain riding will be good prep for the hills of Oregon though, so it’s not 100% irrational. Dang it’s gonna be fun!
