So what’s the best thing to do after a pseudo race? Why go on a REAL ride!
I hadn’t made a Spin Cycle Ride in forever, so this past Sunday I checked my directions and rode the 17 miles to the shop with plenty of time to ready myself to roll with the group. It was a small group, maybe only 15 or so riders, which turned out really nice. Just as nice as the warm weather. Time to start those funny tan lines!
It was great seeing friends I hadn’t ridden with in a long time. So great to ride with Russ and Eric of the old T2R crew! Russ is looking STRONG! And newer friends John B. & Janelle. We picked a hilly route that took us up Jack Bennett, then over the undulations south of Chapel Hill and over through Bynum Ridge. Was another stupidly long ride for me by the time I made my way back to Durham. I won’t say how many miles, but it was less than 100.
So what did I get to do that night to recover? Why fly to Orlando for a full Monday of interviews and a big fat flight delay on the way home. It was a very late night and I was shelled. Not only do I need to recover from my weekend training, I need to recover from work, so today was an easy one.
