This morning, we packed up and checked out of the lodge. Looking at the drive time from Fort Davis to El Paso airport and the flight departures tomorrow morning, we decided it best to check out early and stay the night in hopping El Paso. We’re staying at the Microtel, which has bigger rooms for the two double beds than the king bed rooms. Those king bed rooms are teeny. We also have wireless internet that’s pretty decent here. Yay!
Before leaving town, we went over to Davis Mountain State Park, which is just down the street from Sproul Ranch. There’s some hiking trails a bit on the technical side that led up a pair of mountains. My hip was bothering me, so I ran down on the paved road. Wasn’t a fast run, but I managed to keep moving for an hour and 35 minutes, so I guess that’s a success.
Alisha hopped on her bike in the cold air and rode to Balmorhea while we did some food shopping and driving around. I took a few pictures of Balmorhea, which I’ll try and post later.
I also tried to register for White Lake Sprint Tri but haven’t had any luck yet getting through. The site keeps being down. I hear it’s intermittent.
In a while, we go out for dinner and maybe look for some Texas flavor gear to buy before we go.
