Oh my gosh. We wondered for a while if we were going to make it here at all. It was the trip that never ended. Flight delays (mine & Gary’s), finding a pharmacy and spending eons at Wal-Mart to get Alisha’s prescription filled (she has laryngitis), and the long-long-long drive through the dark Texas desert finally had us arrive at the ranch around mid-night Central Time. And it had been an early start. Eastern time. Yikes.
But we’re here. Mostly one piece. Alisha’s voice is more of a squeaky scratchy noise and my hip is mostly fine. We have to go to the lodge to get internet since the wireless doesn’t reach to the cabin.
Alicia & Alisha The Cabin
We went on a little run and I felt pretty awful. I have to blame the 5,000+ elevation. Either that, or I’m an out of shape weenie. I seemed to be breathing heavier than my effort suggested. We ran 4.2 miles. I won’t tell you how long it took. Check out Alisha’s blog for photos of the wildlife we encountered on our short jaunt.
In a little while, we’re riding the bikes down to Terlingua. I’ll post a report on that tonight.

Nice to meet y’all; hope Alisha feels better soon.
Keep an eye for loose spokes, particularly in the
rear wheel. Your bike had many.
cheers,
John d/b/a BIKEMAN, Alpine
Thanks, John! We’ll see you tomorrow for a hand pump. And that $10 we owe you.
